Clondalkin Travellers Development Group (CTDG) is a community
development project that works with Travellers in the Clondalkin,
Lucan, Newcastle and Palmerstown with the aim of improving Travellers
quality of life.
WE CURRENTLY HAVE A VACANCY FOR THE POST OF:
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL CASE MANAGER
The main focus of the role will be to proactively engage with members
of the Traveller Community experiencing substance misuse and to direct
them to the appropriate mainstream services while also providing
education on substance misuse to the wider Traveller community.

THE MAIN AREAS OF WORK WILL BE TO:
* To proactively engage with Travellers experiencing substance misuse
issues and to link individuals to the most appropriate
services/supports in the area and to facilitate that referral pathway
* To work in conjunction with local drug services to develop
strategies to improve accessibility for members of the Traveller
Community
* To identity any gaps and blocks to Travellers using mainstream
supports and to work appropriately with the service providers to help
remove these blocks
* To provide appropriate education programmes to young Travellers
identified as being ?at risk? of engagement in drug and alcohol
misuse
* To develop and deliver a range of programmes aimed at the
Traveller community with a focus on prevention and education.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a level 7 diploma in
Community Drugs Work or Addiction Studies or a related field or
extensive experience of working in the area.
